Meet Mr Plaha
Mr Plaha started his post graduate medical training in 1972 Bombay gaining his fellowship of the college of physicians & surgeons of Bombay in 1975. Whilst working in major trauma centres in Bombay he acquired a broad training in general, paediatric and vascular surgery as well as gaining experience in plastic surgery maxillo-facial surgery and the management of upper and lower limb injuries. He wanted to have a comprehensive understanding of most surgical specialities before pursuing a career in orthopaedics.
He then moved to England where he continued his training in orthopaedics gaining FRCS Edinburgh, FRCS England & FRCS (Orth) Edinburgh. He completed his training in orthopaedic surgery in various hospitals around London.
In 1992 he became a consultant for Barking Havering & Redbridge Hospital where he continued in trauma and orthopaedic surgery with a special interest in lower limb reconstructive surgery carrying out complex hip and knee revision surgery. He regularly attends training courses in England and Europe keeping abreast of new techniques.
Apart from hip replacements and knee replacement Mr Plaha has a special interest in hand and foot surgery.
